Hi everyone 🙂
how is it going?

it is day 15 in 2013. i assumed that most of you will be working on a new year resolution and what not. be it fitness-related. diet-related. weight-related. mine would be dance-related.
yes yes yes. my new year resolution would be different from most of yours. nothing related to food or exercise. it’s more to my ‘inner’ health.
i want to enjoy life more. dance more. and be happier.
as simple as that.
but not-so-simple ramification i’m afraid.
for most of you who are taking another attempt in losing weight- i have something that you will find useful.
no fad diets- sorry!

my kind of weight loss plan involves effort- physically and mentally- and time. no weight loss works overnight. if it does then you must be suspicious.
talking about weight loss does not end in 5 minutes. writing about weight loss as you would know cannot be covered in 1 paragraph.
there are a thousand and one ways to lose weight according to the web. whether they are good or not- one must question.
and it’s so easy to fall into those fad diets. the media, the marketing, the ‘success stories’- i’m not blaming you!
as a dietitian, i want you to know that to lose weight- you need to have a regular, balanced meal and live an active life. you do NOT need to cut out any food group.
recently, Dietitians Association of Australia released Australia’s three worst diet you could fall into- the Lemon Detox diet, the Acid and Alkaline diet and the Six Weeks to OMG diet. Please head over the link to read more about it. you can also watch the video here.
have you heard of Australia’s Healthy Weight Week before?

Australia’s Healthy Weight Week (AHWW) raises awareness of the importance of achieving and maintaining a healthy weight and a healthy lifestyle. There are Events held in the last week of January each year (this year- 20-27 January 2013) to help promote this message, and promote how an Accredited Practising Dietitian can assist with weight loss, weight maintenance and lifestyle management.
head over to its website for more information. it’s great as it has useful information and resources..including these 7 day meal plans.
I have two 7-day meal plans available for you. Click this link AHWW 7 day meal planner 1 for a concise meal plan which you could stick on your fridge.
Or click this link AHWW 7 day meal planner 2 for a more detailed meal plan.
They both are very similar- and both are designed by dietitians. no fad, no cutting corners.
combine them both- one after another and now you have 2 weeks meal plan to kick off your new year!
are you ready to take the challenge?
